I agree, the yamaha shop manual is a joke. I'm not sure I like the plan of drilling into the frame (I broke the frame on my 99 in six places). What I did was secured a small, plastic bottle to the frame above the pipe, epoxied the 2 vent lines into the top, and then epoxied a drain hose down from the bottom. Worked pretty well. Thanks for all the input.
