Replacing the stock rod, and getting the full 686. Shipping parts out Monday, and this thing is going to be bullet proof. LOL. I'm going the whole 9yrds on this thing, so I am very happy.

I would have used the money to buy a 450R, or a YFZ. You could have traded in your bike, and had a new and improved bike.

Matter a fact, I remember you posting a thread about getting a new YFZ. What ever happened to that idea? Seems like it would have been the better choice.

 

Maybe he has some cojones and likes torque?

 

I was going to get a YFZ, but the idea of starting over on a new bike is something I don't want to do. Besides, Curtis Sparks has only gotten a YFZ up to 55hp by building it. And I've already got lot's of extra's on my Raptor, and the signiture 686 seems like a very good idea.

YFZ might be my extra quad for next year. But I'm not about to pay $7000 now for one. Hell, if I wait I'll get a look at the Suzuki/Kawasaki 450. They have a year to improve over the R or YFZ. So I'll get a look at what they have and make a decision on a new quad. But the 686 just seems to be the best option right now. I guarentee it will fly, and there is a couple YFZ's around here that I will be hunting down with the 686.

 

yamaha660R, I think you made a wise choice. It sounds like it will be a sweeter bike. I'll also be lookin at next years models of the 450's.

 

I know I made the right choice. And looking at next year's model's is all I'll be doing if the 686 runs 1/2 as good as it's supposed to.

 

well....honestly...unless you got money the 450's only make sense when racing due to the displacement restrictions...450cc max

 

actually you can bore them out to more than 450. i think selector has a 467, and you can probably go bigger.
