Default battery help

Is it a new battery? If it is, it needs to be filled with acid first. If you are just refilling a battery, you can put water in it.

Default battery help

The bubbling is normal, its hyrogen gas, coming out of the solution. Just be careful, its very flamable, you shouldnt smoke while around a charging battery.
You should charge at a low amperage, a trickle charger works very well, it charges at 1/2 amp. After its done chargeing, take it to napa or auto zone and have them do a load test, this will tell whether its good or bad.
Youre right to put distilled water in the battery, tap water has too many minerals, that will shorten the life of a battery.

Fill the new battery with acid up to the fill line on the side of the battery.
