04 BANSHEE QUESTION (BANSHEE OWNERS ONLY)
#1
Hi guys I just got my new 04 banshee which is still all stock. First off I love it, But When I stop for a second or two it will either stall or load up. I did raise the idle a little as I was low, But it will still stall. Please let me know if this is normal. I'm getting t-5 pipe lit next week along with a better air filter.

I'd say it's either your air/fuel mix or your pilot jets are a little clogged up. This is a wierd circumstance cause it's a brand new quad right? It shouldn't have problems like this. Instead of you tryin to fix it just take it back to the dealership under warranty.

If your shee is still stock, then i'd be willing to bet the fuel mixture needs to be richened.Check your mixture screws.Stock they should be 2 turns out,but depending on how cool it is outside, they may need to be screwed in 1/2 to 1 full turn on each carb.Alot of people don't pay enough attention to their pilot screws and from the factory there always on the lean side.try turning them in an 1/8 turn at a time and see if that clears it up.You may have to reset the idle screws after you adjust the mixture screw.
I make adjustment to the pilot screw everytime I ride to adjust for the atmospheric conditions. The slightest adjustment of 1/8 turn makes a world of difference.Once you've ridden it enough, you'll know when it wants an adjustment..Generally,when it gets colder out,it will need the slightest enrichenment.
It sounds like a pain in the butt to constantly make adjustments, but if temps vary and your looking for the best performance, then take the extra minute to dial it in.
My 01 ran like poop from the dealer,You had to really get the revs up to pop the clutch out without stalling, not to mention it wouldn't idle for more than 10 seconds. My screws were set at 2 1/2 turns out and I had to turn screw them in 3/4 of a turn to get rid of the bog on take off.
