We're considering taking on a project to mount a R1 motor on a Raptor. We're getting tired of being beat by all the Banshees out there. Anybody done this and how hard is it? Any tips, nightmare stories, pics of the mounts, etc., would be appreciated.

By the way, have you ever ridden a liter bike? I had one and it was ridiculously fast. My 929RR was fast, my friends R1 was too, but the GSXR 1000 that I got to ride was just unbelievable imo.

Never rode a litre bike. But I did ride a 750cc two stroke years ago. Not mine, I rode a friends....man that thing was fast.

Actually, I saw a R1 motor and accessories for about 1400 and I can get a used raptor for about 3K. By the time I get done I'd have about 6 or 7 in it. Won't be building one in the next month or two but thinking about doing it over the next year as a project with the boys.

Alky, is that the guy that ran at Dexter last Fall? He was definitely fast.
