Dawn dishwashing soap works very well, it really cuts the old oil . You should use air filter oil, motor oil will just collect in the low spot. Either buy the spray type, which is real easy to use, but doesnt go far. So buy the liquid air filter oil.
After the filter is clean and dry....put them in a small trash bag, or freezer bag, and add the oil. Mix it in thouroghly, then install it. Puting it in the bag, helps to keep things from being too messy...the oil gets sticky when the solvents evaporate.

Most bike shops have oil for the filters. YamRaptor, there is a good place in Waterford called Magic. There is also a Magic racing supply in Shelby Twp. both are not the same store. But either one should have some spray for treating the foam BEFORE you ride with it. PM if you need directions or need someone to ride with in the next few weeks.

I don't think you can you k&n filter oil,...it is for gauze type filter media, not foam filter media.

Brokenwing,

I know where the magic store is, i go there all the time. The guy that works there remembers me, and when i walk in he and ask me how my raptor is doing. Yeah that place is cool and they got alot of good stuff. Its hard to find nice people. I just got a Oneal bag there. Where do you go riding at?

Which magic store? The two stores are not the same company!! The store in Waterford seems to have older items like chest protectors. Well I just started riding so I have not gone to too many places. This winter I rode on Lake St Clair on the drags and ovals on the ice. I would like to ride more of course have you been to the Mounds?

Try the store in Shelby Twp. on Van Dyke. They are a little better on some prices. Either way now you know of another store to take a look at some day. PM if you want to get together and ride.
