Use foam filter oil but in a pinch motor oil will work.

To clean. Soap and water, simple green or mineral spirits. Don't leave the mineral spirits on any longer than it takes to clean it and soap and water is a good idea after that.

If you ride in the dunes just oil the inside filter and put the outer one one dry. For dust and dirt oil both.

To oil them I use those throw away latex gloves. Pour a little oil in the palm of my hand and work it in to the filter.
