Not to mention that what ever we buy here is twice as much and if we do get from the U.S. you can tack on another $50-$100 for duty.

i agree...so much for NAFTA. you do have some killer spots to ride though and they know how to manage their forests better. seems like california could take some lesson on maintaining their forest from Canada.

I am from CANADA and have NEVER had any probs getting my parts shipped to me here in Ontario. If you did a BIT of research about the US and CANADA free trade, you would not be paying ANY duty charges if the product is made in the US. The dealer you are getting your parts from, all they have to do is fill out a NAFTA form, which there is no expense to the dealer for it, and your duty charges will be waved. Look into things a little harder and youll be pretty surprised what you can find out!!!!

Try www.royaldistributing.com. They have a decent selection.
Have everything you can mailed from the US. Way cheaper.

Title on the post is a little harsh don't ya think.

Who wants to sit around filling out NAFTA forms to sell a $25 degree key? It's hard enought complying with the suffocating regulations here in the US, let alone add another layer of forms and paper trail, hence many just won't do it.

If you mail something, there are no forms, you simply write on the envelope/box what the contents are and a value.
I have bought a ton of stuff from the US and venders worth dealing with will use the postal service on small relatively in-expensive items. I believe with UPS there are not a lot of forms as they do the paperwork and in turn bill the Canadian receiver for it.

When shipping via truck, there is one document required and that is a commercial invoice for customs. Just shipped an outboard to Canada from Texas. No problem. Commercial invoice took 5 minutes to fill out.

Its not that difficult.

Here is another way for you to get what you want. Find someone in the U.S. that lives close to the border. Send said person the money to get your parts. He drives your parts across the border, and mails them to you using the canadian postal service. No duty, and you get what you want. Your gonna have to kick down some dough to your bud that helped you, but it will be cheaper than duty.
