He better be a pretty good bud to do all this work and only expect a thanks in return.
I do feel bad for you guys. I would take all your orders and get all your stuff to ya at some meeting point in Can, but......I'm not sure thats legal. I see no reason why you should have to pay a heavy duty on parts. I think a simple sales tax of say 6% would be fair. Then you would be on the same footing as the rest of us. We all pay shipping charges and in this new global economy borders shouldn't mean as much.
Maybe one of you guys can take the bull by the horns and start a canadian mailorder company. I'm sure there are companies up there who could provide the same services and products as US co.s if you search around. With cnc type machines a company can build anything they want.
I am not sure I see a reason for you guys to be a seperate country. (easy now!)

i totally agree. I am trying to find out if i know anyone who in the states who can order stuff for me and then send them up here just as a reqular package. Its real esay to do if you know people down there.
