how much speed do you loose when you drop a tooth in the front?

noone?
common i know probably more then half of you have changed your front sprockets!lol
how much of a difference can you tell with top speed?

I don't have a blaster but have played with my raptor gearing and the best thing I can tell you is I lost about 3 mph but the the bottom picked up. You have to play with yours to see what works best for you. I run 12/42 and I'm playing with it all the time. I play in sand.

I agree with dfitz, You won't notice a lot of top end loss, but you will notice the bottem end gain. Anything you lose in the top you are going to make up for in the start. Of course I'm talking about a Raptor, but gearing is gearing isn't it.

defently, im all about the bottom end, im not looking to go real fast, cuz all i do is hill shooting and messing around in the pits.
The stock front is 13 and im going to go to a 12.

stock gearing 13/40 on my Warrior as equipped would pull (with enough room) 110km/h
I dropped to 12/40 and I now top out at 102km/h. 8km/h drop, 5mph.
The difference being is I can hit 102km/h with relative ease. Getting to 110 was a real chore and only accomplished it once.
I'm thinking of going to a 42T rear this summer/spring. That will probably drop me to about 95km/h or a little better, but the responsiveness should be much nicer

Simple math problem. Part/total = %/100
So it depends where you start out. You're talking Blaster right? What's the stock gearing again?
If you have a 13/40 and you change to a 12/40 you only have to look at the changed sprocket to do the math.
12/13
12 is 92% of 13 using the above formula. You will lose 8% top speed but gain torque multiplication.

I too am dropping my raptor to a 12 in the front and heard the top end loss was not that great but the bottom end sure helped.... I play at the dunes alot also( formerly from Saskatchewan).Bob

THis is a very handy page for finding top speed vs. gearing for a banshee. This is using the banshee transmission gear ratios so the blaster or raptor will be different, but it will give you an idea.
