i wanted to ask you guys about a blaster i heard that the new blasters were better im 22 i weigh 170 pounds and im 5' 5 is that too big for a blaster?

 

Better than what?

And i dont think you are to big for the blaster.

Im not sure but I think they changed the to hydraulic disc brakes from the old drum brakes since 2003 i think. They are alot better I think. The blaster is just a little smaller it would prly fit you good if your 5'5" cause im 5'8" and my knees can hit the fenders when im taking taking really sharp turns. But you can easily fix that by taking a hack saw and cutting them off

I looked at an 04 and it had hydraulic disc brakes all the way around (big upgrade from front drums and mechanical disc rear). Other than that I think they just changed the plastic and moved the headlight. The brakes on the blasters made prior to 03 were prone to fail and it is about time that yamaha handled that issue. I had to spend $250 just to get hydraulic brakes for the rear on mine.

 

i have a 03 now. excelent brakes. dual hydrolic disc in fornt and single hyroloc disc in back. and they put a plastic nose piece on it. thats all. http://yamaha-motor.com/products/unitspecscomp02.asp go to that. good luck



ps im 6ft, not too cramped, im gettin a raptor within a month, but blaster was a great bike.
