About the same as a 4stroke, you just gotta get new pistons about every 5/6 years depending on how you ride, and you gotta mix the gas- and always turn it off after you ride, youll foul plugs, unless you use golden spectro...

I use castor 927 at 32:1 and have never fouled a plug. If you foul a plug your jetting is probably a little off. I have let mine idle for 5-10 minutes and never fouls.

everyone says there is alot more maintance to a 2-stroke but its not really true, if you ride it right and take care of it then you wont have much of a problem. Plus, if somthing breaks its a heck of alot easier to fix then it would be a 2-stroke.

Default 2 stroke?

people always say two strokes are more maitnence cause they run them lean to get a little bit more speed and they're the ones doing a top end every season or all the time. its true the more high performance any bike atv, truck car or whatever is the less reliable it is and the more maitnence it needs. If you have a banshee with 500CC cylinders running NOS and lots of other stuff yea its more maitnence than a 4 stroke but if you have a shee with pipes and intake and a 4 stroke with pipes and intake it shouldnt be that much more to take care of either one. Regular preventative maitnence and riding style have a lot to do with how much work any bike is. ]

and 2004bansheele: i think he means turn of the petcock on your carbs when you shut down after a ride.

Default 2 stroke?

I have had a Warrior,Banshee,Trailblazer and YFZ450. Two 2 strokes and 2 four strokes.
I think i had the most trouble with the Warrior a 4 stroke. I did have to rebuild the banshee. But that was not a 2 stroke related prob. To me it really doesn’t matter what it is they all have there place in my garage. The Trailblazer and the YFZ never a prob with them.

Would you rather do a top end on a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke.4-stroke has twice the mechanical parts inside the motor than a 2-stroke.H'mm I wonder witch one would be cheeper and easer to work on.
