Mostly to hold extra shock "fluid" and help keep it cool. I usually don't have trouble on trails with mine fading, unless I've been pounding the hell out of the front-end for awhile......but, the good thing is the Steelers have a fitting on them already so if they do seem to fade faster than you like, you can add the remote rezzies , without having to get all new shocks...I think I'm like alot of people and want them mostly for looks, not neccessity (however its spelled)

I don't want to be a stick in the mud but I own them (works triple rate) and it I had to do it all over again I would have saved money and gotten better shocks.

You could get Elka triples w/o rezzys for about $500, much better.

I would got so far as to say that if it wasn't for the longer a-arms that required a new shocks due to the change of leverage ratios, I would rather have the stock shocks.

I didn't think there was much of a difference between works at steelers and other aftermarket shocks until I got a set if PEPs, big difference.

I like my shocks and they are just as good or better than the others, unless you run MX i would get these, you can really turn the other brands to fit your exact style and are in need or major tunning for you to like..

If you're going to spend money on shocks, save a little more and get Elka's. The Steelers are good, but they're not adjustable. They are an improvement over stock and if you are instaling extended a-arms and have to replace the shocks, the steelers are a good budget shock. Don't even think about the rear one. It's no improvement over stock and would be cheaper just to have your stock rear shock revalved. Remember, you get what you pay for.

Mine are adjustable. They are the Pro Series.
