I've been planning to get a 240 kit from Hollywood, so I'm looking for a bigger carb. I saw that a company called Trenga had a good price so I gave them a call. Well it turned into a long call, about 20 or 30 minutes and this guy named Erik Trenga came on the line and talked and talked. He said he's been in the business for a long time and builds about 200 blaster motors a year. Basically He said more power to Hollywood and Vito's for making money selling parts, but otherwise he pretty muched trashed them. He said Vito's just sells parts and doesn't really do any motor work. He said his people have complained about having to work on engines with Vito's parts in 'em cuz their f'd up. and he said about Hollywood that he has never seen their motors on any of the bikes winning races. He said that he had the best "newest" tech and that basically he had a lot more experience than Vito's or Hollywood. And that bikes with his motors and parts win a lot more races.

I'm just researching this to see where I need to spend my money. So I don't have a vested interest one way or the other. I know these forums have been really helpful, and wonder what you guys can tell me about Hollywood vs. Trenga. (vs. Vito's)

edit: well, I guess I didnt know trenga did motorwork either so it doesnt matter any. I thought they were both parts guys

 

Eric wasnt lying to you! Ive been reading and hearing about trenga racing for about 10 years and I just found out that he is only a couple miles down the road from me. I went to his place to get some parts and check out his operation. To make a long story short, this guy knows his ****. I asked him about the other products and he showed me examples of his compared to the others (vito's and Blasterzone). His products are actually quality and very well thought out. He showed me the piston that vito is selling to correct timing and explained why it doesnt last very long (the exhaust side heats up and melts the rings into the piston). He pays very close attention to detail when he designs products and there is a good chance that just about every blaster performance part was originally designed by him and then copied by these money hungry guys. Think about what it would take to design and build your own carb......the 30mm flatslide and many other products are designed and built by him. Yes he might keep you on the phone for a while but its because he wants you to understand why his products are better and give you the facts before you buy junk. Ive bought products from the other companys and got what I paid for (JUNK). 13 years is a long time to be modding blasters so I have to believe that his products are the best. just my 2 cents!!!!!

ask trenga who has done his motor work for the last 10 years, bet he won't tell you diamond racing was the one, eric hasn't designed a thing, diamond racing did all the work and he took the credit, the guys a chump, and rags on everyone out there cuz he THINKS he's the best, there's my 2 cents, I think he's a deek.

 

how many championships can vito's and hollywood lay claim too? Seems to me eric had a couple boxes full of trophies.

anyone can have trophies, I look for customer service, great prices and quality workmanship, how many guys on blasters do you think are out to win championships, trenga may have his claim to fame with his "championships" but is the blaster class really a bragging right since that's all he talks about is his championships with blasters, not a lot of kids that own blasters are out to race the nationals with them, now look at the pricing differences between all 3 blaster builders, I'll bet you, if you put up a trenga blaster and a hollywood blaster, trenga may not win the race, at least I have seem the trenga blasters at the local tracks get dusted by a few hollywood built blasters, but that's locally, so who knows whats trenga doing nationally, I don't have the cash to travel to the nationals, but I know there are a couple guys at the local tracks that have trenga porting and none of them can even pull a 2nd to my hollywood built motor, just my 2 cents.

 

yes by golly your right. He must've had those trophies made at the local trophy shop, they were all so neatly displayed in boxes stacked on top of one another. Bottom line is if you want less expensive, lesser quality, and great customer service go to vito's and get his "67" hp big bore kit. If you want alot better quality with a little more out of your wallet then go to trenga. Maybe hollywood dirt has great products, but they are not the best.

 

how do you know that?

I've smoked every trenga blaster I come across so far, so that must mean they did something right, I don't think trenga is the best either, but I'm definately satified with my hollywood blaster[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
