Raptor Clutch longevity?
#1
im asking this because ive had my raptor for about 9 months now and I think the clutch on my bike is going awol. on hills i give it gas to go up and it revs up and it doesnt feels like its pulling up the hill but then I pump the throttle an you can hear it grab and the revs go down and dies also when racing comming out it revs all through 3rd and it feels liek its slipping then it feels it grabs coming on 4th but then the revs go down as if i shifted if i didntn need to. simple, it doesnt feel it grabs like before. i already tried adjusting my clutch lever right now i have 1/4 " play on it.
how long was it before the first clutch replacement? what did you replace it with? how did it run after replacement?

i burned up 2 stock clutches on my Raptor in the first year i owned it. Then i went for the EBC Clutch Plates with Kevlar for about $100 bucks on Rocky Mountain, and i have had them on for over a 1 1/2 and have no problems

I was just curious if anyone else has experience with the kevlar clutches. I was always told that kevlar clutches are not good, but I can't remember why they said not to use them, so I always just stick with a regular heavy duty clutch.
I put in a gytr clutch kit in last winter. It has held up so far ( about a years worth of riding). The real test will be this summer to see if it will hold the power of the 727 I am building. Although I did notice the other day that the clutch plates where kinda turning color from heat, but i haven't noticed it sliping. I must just ride the clutch to much or something.....

I have gone thru 2 clutches hat are aftermarket and they still break,i think if the kevlar worked so well i wouldent be replacing it, but i doubt your dropping the clutch at 5,000 RPM's 30 or 40 times a weekend...
There is nothing to do but keep replacing..
