Follow the instructions! Take care of the engine during the first 20 or so hours, dont go crazy on it. My Yamaha dealership has had the '01 models in for two weeks....

Take it easy at first.. maybe the first 10-15 hours on engine. I wouldn't get it over mid range..half throttle. When you get the engine broke in, try to jump it high and far. That will break your shocks in very quickly. After the shocks are broke in, the bike will handle/jump alot better. Later,

You dont have to break it it for 15-20 hours. You should just take it easy on it for the first hour or so. My KX 125 manual said to run it for 10 minutes, let it cool down, run it for 20 minutes, never gasing it hard let it cool down, run it for 30 minutes gently through every gear and your done. After that, ride it as hard as you want.

Take it easy on the first tank of gas..then have at it!

who wants to ride easy for 20 hours? most people don't ride 20 hours in a month
