for your riding i would go with a banshee they are beasts on the dunes and in the drags but crappy in the trails but if u plan to do more duning and drags get the shee. u dont need alot of power and speed for the trails so maby one of the 400's likie the z kfx or ex

i agree with scary, get a used shee and go for the mods, you can make that shee into the screaming bitch it is meant to be, yeah not that great on trails well i say that is crap, it all depends on the rider because i havent found a trail or a rider i cant handle on mine and there is no comparison on the dunes and on the strip

you buy yourself a mint 1989 LT500r quadzilla for 3grand, buy a used modded warrior for 3 more and save a grand for upkeep on the two

I would go with the Banshee. Buy it new for around 5,000, do some motor work for 1,000, and then put wider a-arms, a new axle and new shocks for 2,000. Just my thoughts.

Unlike everyone else im going to ask you a few questions. How old are you? Are you agressive on trails, or like to sit and cruise through them? How much do you wiegh? How tall are you? What are the main places you will ride?(trails, dunes, drags) What colors do you like All these questions play an important part in picking the quad for you. Raptor sounds like a good choice, I think its confortable on trails, has power. Awsome dune machine, if you know how to handle the raptors "tippiness" which you could fix +1 or 2 arms and axle. Pipe, filter, maybe cam and piston if you want. If you like 2strokes you can go with banshee but it may be more work on the trail, but they are the dune champions. Since I have yet to ride a yfz all I will say is stock, they are really quick machines. It has been my experience that stock yfz will beat piped/filtered raptors up the dunes.
