It won't go faster!! What the hell!?! Anyway, use a hacksaw (a Sawzall will vibrate the fender like crazy and make it hard to follow a line), then finish shaping with a flat file, and run some fine sandpaper along the edges to smoothen it up and make it look good....

EDIT: It also helps to heat the blade with a small torch-just like a hot knife thru butter-an inch at a time, tho...

A jig saw will work. Use sand paper and smooth out the rough edges.

You can cut them where ever you want, but following the lines/bends in the plastic is the best way to make both sides even.

Default proper way to cut fenders ?

It was easy on my Warrior, because I had to drill rivets out, then one plastic part came off, and I had to use a hacksaw and cut the lip where the holes for the rivets where....then used a sander, got the rough spots out, then did it by hand, turn out pretty good.

[EDIT] It wouldnt make a 400ex go any faster, the only quad I heard it made go faster was the Wolverine....because there so big and bulky, it cutsa on on wind contact, but I am guessing it would help all utility quads but I don't know why you would want to on one.

I was told it would go a little faster, but thats not my reason for doing it, I see 400ex's w/ the fenders up way more than they should be when riding and it looks dumb, so thats why I would cut mine, anyway thank you all for your help and info. I will use a jigsaw and sand paper. And draw out the lines b4 I start cutting.
