Im 21 and ride a 99 blaster, i just recently started riding and havent had the chance to ride all that many different quads. I always hear how good the TRX250R was and is, but honda doesnt make them anymore so I personally wouldnt go out and get a "used" quad, I prefer NEW.
After purchasing the Blaster (which was a cheap buy, reason for buying) I shopped around and looked, I liked the look of the 400ex, Banshee. Those 2 would be my next choice of quads, but now that I see the new Raptor out I am thinking about gettin one, only after I read some rider reviews.
I think both lines of quads are good, just depends on what type of riding you are doing.

I don't know man, Honda dirt bikes have always been consistantly good solid engineering. Not always better than the rest but still good. Yamaha has put out some bombs. look at the 91 YZ125....92 yz250. I don't think either of these won much praise for yamaha and they damn sure couldn't touch a 89-95 CR. Of course the team bikes kicked butt....why shouldn't they.
I can't wait to see how the Rapter turns out for everyone. The mear size of the motor demands attention. It will be interesting.
Okay while I'm in here. You two guys fighting with one hand and a thesaurus in another is the funnest thing I've ever seen. Ya'll keep it up. Hey that guy called your dog a bitch! you don't have to take that......ahahhahahahahahahahahah

I have always had good luck with Yamaha and being 6'4" they seem to fit me better. My son loves his 250R for the lightness, he loves to jump and power slide the bike around, but we are always having to fix things. It is 14 years old, you don't see to many old Banshee's like that.
Before we got him the 250R he loved his Yamaha Blaster for the same reasons but just grew out of it.
I think you need to try out a few bikes and see which one's suit your riding style and terrain, regardless of manufacture.
