Hot Raptor?
Heres something on the Raptor head When you get ready to torque it down you need to get some bolts that will reach down along the side of the camgear area . You know were the long skinnys go after you put the top on .
Any way you need to get some that you can tighten down ( SNUG ) as you pull your head down . Have actually torqued down a head and then added a couple of bolts to the side area and #2 and #4 have backed off . . And Yes the surface was flat . If you keep haveing head gasket failure try it
Heres a pic of the 2 bolt holes I'm talking about PIC
Also be careful pulling your thermostat it can cause you to over heat . Tstat is designed to let the radiator coolant cool off while the engine coolant heats up and then they exchange . if they work right it balances out . with out the Tstat the coolant just keeps heating and going thru the pump . You will need to keep moving pretty fast so the air will ram thru the radiator (RAM AIR ) when you ride slow it will over heat .
Hope things work out for ya
GOOD LUCK
