if i get a new ring kit, and gasket kit, wil my blaster run like new? all that costs like 60$

 

You should hone the cylinder when installing new rings ona non nikasil bore, have the cylinder done at a machine shop since its a 2 stroke.

Other than that it should run pretty strong, search for info on dimpling the engine case for the base gasket, it will help in the long run to keep it from blowing out or sucking in.

 

yea, the shop i am buying the parts from is honing it for me for free. but will a new piston give me anypower?

 

if its the 2003 your talking about I bet your piston is ok, rings and gaskets should bring it back to life.

 

yes its the 03. recently it started loosing power, i put in a new plug, but compression seems to be failing here. i think my piston is fine, but i want to rebuild it with the rings and gaskets and getting it honed
