Octane boost is a joke.

 

I wasn't looking at any usual run of the mill octane boost. But something along the lines of Nos Octane Boost or Turbo 108. They both raise octane points by more then 10pts. So it would raise 93 to 94. It's designed for 20gallons, and I am going to put it in a 5 gallon jug.

I'm not looking for a miracle, just some insurance I won't have a ping or anything when I load the carb's up. But I shouldn't anyway with the Ross 11:1.

 

Octane boost is a joke. If you need the extra octane, just run race gas. You will end up spending almost as much money on boost as the real thing. Just do a 50/50 mix of 100 and premium and you will be fine.

 

I installed a stage 2 hotcam, and a 11:1 JE piston, i was running normal gas, then i bought some 110 race gas, OOHH man, it ran SSOO much smoother and it lugged better, other then going on i'll just leave you with that..... it did make a differnece and for the 13 extra bucks for a full days ride, I'd say it's worth it

 

I will try the 50/50 mix with the race gas. I know I won't need to run straight race gas, so I will try it with the 93....then 93/boost mix....then the 50/50 mix and see what I like the best.

 

Yamaha660R, is that a true 11:1, or is it a JE piston?
