Welcome to the 686 world, you'll se a huge difference. I had to upgrade my battery to a Yuasa YTX20L-bs from www.discountmotorcyclebattery.com it made all the difference in the world, my stock battery just wouldnt do it. You'll have a heck of a time jetting it properly, I'd start with 25 pilots and see if that fixes your hot headpipes. I'd also check your mains, somewhere in the 180/185 to start with. I went as high as 200/200 and was still lean, upgraded to FCRs and never looked back.

ONE MORE 686 QUESTION
I gotta a question about this. You guys are talking about retorqing the big main head bolts right? Not all the little 5mm allen bolts. So to do this you have to take the top half of the head off so you can get to the big bolts, then put the cover back on and retorq all the little allen bolts, right?
