I have a 96 stock banshee and a 9? built banshee. Both have major troubles shifting under hard acceleration from 3rd to 4th to 5th. Other friends have complained about the same thing, and someone said that there was a fix or kit to solve this problem. Anybody know if there is, and where I can get info???

banzilla:
Last weekend I had the chance to meet a guy out at Silverlake sand dunes in Mi..... He told me of a fix that works great on the banshee.... All gears in a tranny have 3 dogs that protrude from the side of the gear, Those dogs have to slide into a set of 6 holes on the next higher gear. He instructed me to cut every other notch on the receiving gear so that there are only 3 slots instead of 6.(greater chance of the gears not skipping under a load. I have had the same problem with my banshee now for years and I hate losing a race from a bad shift. This mod is NOT like an over ride tranny where it is for drag racing only.... This winter I am getting a spare set of tranny gears(complete tranny for 150.00) and that way there I will have a spare set. Dan Hull out of Michigan has a shop and caters to big HP bikes, I am sure he could help you out if you dont want to do it yourself.
I hope this helps
