Banshee A-Arm...Help!
#1
Hi Folks,
Yesterday I became the proud owner of a brand new Y2K Banshee...The first thing I did was take it out and ride to see how I compared to my 400EX and it ROCKS! On the first jump I took I failed to recognize the sagebrush stump directly behind it and came down directly on it denting my still unscuffed A-Arm. My question is does anyone know where I can get one besides from Yammy? Am I better off dumping the whole stock system in favor of an aftermarket one for better handling (the only area the 400EX was better)? Please give me your input!
Thanks

Sounds like your failed to read the break in section in your owners manual
. I would probably just buy a used A arm from K&K atv (K&Katv.com) and get riding again. Or you could do what I did and buy an ATV Racing +2+1 front suspension, if you want all the details on it email me I would be happy to share it with you. Make sure you didn't tweak the frame. And for god sake, when you do get it up and running again, take it easy and break it in or your motor will never get to peak performance, not to mention the tranny gears and all the bearings. Good luck.

The same thing happened to my 99 Banshee. The more I looked at it the worse it looked. As it turns out the frame is twisted every which way. Look at your quad REALLY CAREFULLY. If you managed to bend the lower "A" arm I'm willing to bet the frame is bent too. If you didn't insure it for collision coverage you still may be able to claim it if its within 30 days of purchase. Many insurers will give you a 30 day grace period to buy a policy. If you can buy the parts and fix it yourself great but if the frame is messed up you may want to claim it.

Thanks for the input....I have looked it over and over and cannot see anything except the "dent" in the A-arm and the "stump" was a sagebrush stump so I think I am ok (I think) Even still Insurance may be a good idea! I have only had it a few days and have never had insurance on any other ATV I have owned but this one may be a good place to start
Please let me know of who you use (company) and any other info that is helpful as I have asked my agent in the past and he basically said they don't insure them other than under my homeowners policy...
Thanks

reno...gumby is right don't use the insurance unless you absolutely need to. The used parts he quoted you are cheaper than a 250 deductible anyway and I'm sure you can install the parts yourself. You should contact the insurer you have the rest of your insurance with ( your car, home, boat, jewelry and furs etc). They will probably give you the best rate. Make sure you have collision coverage for those times you run into stuff.

Reno... I didn't really answer your question. I have State Farm for my house, car and ATV. Your home owners insurance MAY automatically cover your ride if it is used exclusively to service your property. Such as one of those 4x4 monsters used to haul hay and feed and move snow etc. If you have alot of property you MAY be able to say that your Banshee is used to service your property. Such as rounding up the horses or getting to the back 80 in a real hurry. If you use your Banshee for recreational riding off of your property, then you PROBABLY need a recreational vehicle policy. If your agent doesn't handle them, you may want to switch all of your business to a company that will. By moving all of your business to a new company you will USUALLY get the best rate.
DON'T QUOTE ME ON ANY OF THIS! I DON'T SELL INSURANCE! Any agent that's sells insurance will find a way to sell you the coverage you need.
ps what did you pay for your "00" out the door.
