I envy some of you guys with your flash as Quads with all the gear all I could afford is is a 1992 350cc 4x4 Big Bear. I cant complain though it gets the job done! One thing that bugs me though is that the top speed is only about 60 Km or about 38 mph (i think?) My mates 1994 Suzuki King quad blows me away. How much difference would 26 inch tyres make? I have 25 inchers at the moment. I would also like to know what the Touque control Diff on my bike does? I would also like to hear from anyone else with an older Big Bear just to share info any help would be apprieciated thanks!

Believe it or not...there still part of me that misses my old 86 or 87 BB. I rode that old lumber wagon for nine years. Never shifted worth darn.Top speed was bad, but that was ok cause anything over 35 got you saying Hail Marys. The shocks had little travel and the steering made your arms sore. But... it always started eaisly. Never,I mean NEVER broke down. The carb was never opened up. This machine was solid to say the least. I really miss the compression release lever. Oh I do have high praise for the Big Bear.
Just rember this...if your machine works for you, thats all that matters.

Dave, I just sold my 98 Big Bear 4x4. It had a Supertrapp IDS exhaust and a K&N Filter for a little more power. This muffler is very user friendly and tunable to stock or jetted carb with provided discs. I also put on Blackwater XT's in 27"X 9 all the way around. The traction was great, they didn't rob much power, and the top end increased significantly. The tires also fit under the fenders without ever rubbing. 27" Blackwater's are actually about 26". Sounds like your're on tract. Good luck!

I too had a 92 Big Bear, hard to steer, hard to shift and slow on top end but reliable. I did not like the rpm that the clutch engaged, sounded like the clutch was slipping, after about a year I was talking to my dealer and he advised me that had been a problem and could be replaced although my warranty period had expired. (I paid $30 labor) They put in a clutch kit from a Kodiak and this made all the difference in the world. Basically it was a change in the clutch spring tension. After keeping the BB 8 years I sold it and bought a 00 Kodiak.

Come to think of it...I ran set of Maxxis 12.5 on back and Spider Tracks 9.5 on front.Powroll made up a cam for more pull off the start. The flat profile of these tires made off cambers a lot more stable. I never got a flat..those are tough tires.
