connecting rod failures on 2002+ rappy's?
I purchased a Vesrah rod several months ago to go along with the 11:1 Wiesco Piston and Stage 1 Hot Cam I will be installing. I purchased the rod from GT Thunder and spoke with a man there. I told him what I was doing and he said the rod would be fine as long as the motor wasn't revving over 10,000 rpm's. He said all of their testing showed that the rod would hold with no problem as long as it was not over revved. I'm having the rod installed this week so when I get my motor back together and run it I will let you know. It will probably take a season of racing to really know how well the rod will perform, but I don't anticipate any problems. The rod looks similar to the stock rod and I was told that Vesrah has been in business for a long time and the man from Gt Thunder told me of a Banshee owner that had engine damage done after installing a Vesrah rod (The rod broke also). It was determined that the rod was not the cause of the failure but Vesrah still paid the man $1500.00 toward the repair of his motor. I guess they stand behind their rods. Remember this is what I was told so I have no way of validating the information. I will give an update later on how well mine does. Take Care and ride Safe.
