This is kinda sad for the big bore quad guys, rappy, pred, ds.. we get beat by little 450s Its like building a monster V8big block take it to the drag strip and have some guy with a V6(stock) beats you...

When i purchase my pred soon i will never race a 450, i will get to pissed over getting beat...lol j/k

Ive heard about YFZ's beating everything. I didnt believe it, I entered that race with confidence. Once we popped the clutch, I GOT SPANKED!! The kid annialated me, and im a bit lighter than him too. I did lose pretty bad to a stock 450

My previous stock bore, stage 1 HC + 10.75/1 JE setup would easily walk away from a YFZ. IMO, it should have....but after reading all of the hype on these forums, I thought it would be a tough race for me. Thats the only one I have raced. I was basically racing myself. The light weight and good power must be a great combo in sand....but on pavement it's hard too make terrain excuses.

why are you so surprised...the 450 is from there latest Dirtbike engine which was designed to change the hearts and minds of die hard 2 stroke fans. the comparison of a V8 to a V6 is not really accurate. its more like comparing it to a 4cyclinder porsche. and man you gotta respect Yamaha for adding the goodies that really count like all the aluminum and FCR carb.

fast is nice but handling gets the ponies to the ground and keeps it there. again the YFZ is compared to none. lift off the seat and take a look at the geometry of that rear shock vs linkage vs where it mounts to the frame. it's a work of F'n art. i want to take a picture of it and frame it on my wall.

with other quads....i'd get on and think "alright lets see what this things got?" when you get on a YFZ, (it) is thinking "cmon son, lets see what you got!". the more you throw at this quad the more it takes.

im not surprised 4stroke enthusiasts like the feel of there raptor or the new Honda better. The YFZ does'nt feel like a 4stroke. I know...I know.. you've alll heard it a hundred times. but it's the truth and if you get a chance to ride one. the only way you can descibe it is "it feels like a 2 stroke" and thats the best compliment Yamaha can get...because that was there goal and they nailed it.

interesting article in ATVSport mag. it's a shootout of the Limited addition Raptor,YFZ and Banshee @ Glamis. can you guess who wins?

I'll be the first to say Raptorowners Sparks 690 is fast. I seen it with my own eyes. Ofcourse this was before Glamis over MLK weekend when the bike broke down....
