grizzly 600 won't start
Gang, just seeing if anyone has any other ideas out there. Have a '98 Grizzly 600 that I can't get to start. It has a brand new battery and I just changed spark plug. It will almost turn over if I pull the choke out as far as it will go. Several weeks ago it would start up but it would just idle weakly and if you gave it any gas at all it would die. Now I can't even get it to do that. Someone suggested that there might be a clog in the fuel filter? Anyone have any suggestions. Thought I'd try here before taking in. O yea, I'm not the best mechanic out there so anything too complicated is probably way outta my league so talk to me like a kid..hehe. Thanks for the help.

well, went out and cleaned everything I could find that had any debris on it. I tried starting it again and the same thing. I did get it to turn over once and stay running for about 10 seconds after pulling the choke all the way out as far as it would go. Idled for just a few seconds and stalled and couldn't get it going again. Any other ideas welcome before I haul this thing in and pay an arm and a let to get checked out. thanks. lecty

Try this....hold your hand or put a piece of duct tape over the opening in the snorkle, and cover it about 90%. This will work like a real choke. Then itll fire right up. I have to do this all the time in the winter.
Make sure gas is getting to the float bowl, open the drain on the bottom of the carb, to make sure it flows out. If yours has a pri position on the fuel valve, use that for starting. Is the gas old? More than 2 months old? If so, its probably the reason its hard starting.
Try starting with the throttle at 1/4 open, if it starts, then you probably have a plugged pilot jet.
Let me know how it goes.
