I want to get rid of the Crappy stock tires on my Raptor. They roll over to much and, make sliding a rough task. I put my friends Maxxis Razors on just to try it and, it made a world of difference. They were on a 1in pers side wider offset rims but, the sidewalls were much stiffer and, made the Raptor handle a ton better. The Downer is the Razors are more expense then others.

I saw the Kenda Klaws and, wanted to know if they were similiar in performance and, side wall stiffness (anything is better than the stock tires). This way I can stick w/ the same company that makes my paddles and, save a few Duckets!

but a buddy of mine from the City, has some on his 400ex, with a 416kit
and he says that they were way betterl then the Razers he had befor.
And i had razers and they are a graeat tire, So if he says there better then them
then i would go for them for sure

I love my klaws beat a couple guys on holeshots off the line and they were on bigger quads. Only reason beat them was traction reasons.

 

ATVSport did a tire shoot out on the Raptor a few issues back. The Kenda Klaw MX version was the best rated tire. Good traction, pattern. Don't remember anything about sidewall stiffness. Might try emailing them for history.

 

They are 6 ply. Have a buddy that ordered a set today.....and mine will be here middle of the month. They have 4 ply too. They only have 6 ply for his warrior.

 

I have a set on my Raptor. I also saw an article where they did a shootout between the Klaws, Razor and Holeshot tires. Klaws came out on top. The tires hold up very nice and I also like the idea of being able to swap them around, depending if you ride hard or sand/mud surfaces.

 

So is the sidewall stiffness better than the stockers on a Raptor? I'm not to worried about straightline grip since the stockers have plenty and, my front end is always in the air. I want to be able to slide better and, not have the tires roll over like the stockers do.

 

6 plys won't roll over as much when you are sliding around cornors,
but they are also heavier.

 

the "Plys" are not exactly Side wall though, right? I just know that my friends Razors have a nice stiff Side wall and, if the Klaws are the same i'm buying them!
