i have been told good for drag racing and been told it will take away topend with out a port job

 

I know raising the exhaust port for more top end hp reduces the compression so you have to get a smaller combustion chamber to compensate. I dont know what all the compression will do to your top end though. I know ive heard it hurts the top end on engines with big bores (only example ive read about sofar was a huge 250r motor) but I dont know enough about it yet to tell you anything on a banshee. If you dont find out by the end of the day though ill ask the local engine builder when I drop by there this afternoon.

Too much compression will hurt you on the top end, but like Jakal said it is relative to engine size. The smaller motors run more compression.

In a nutshell too much compression hurts the shees top end. Higher compression makes the engine work harder at high rpm's and lowers ultimate RPM on the Banshee.
