Agreed, But I am sure they will take $1500 off the price of a new quad for his old one and call it even.

If I let me quad sit for 2 months at a dealer for them to fix I would almost consider the reason it sitting as being me not being on them. there is no excuse on their part.

Well, it is the 2nd gear shift fork, whole engine is apart on the bench. Yamaha agreed to pay for parts, so I guess patients prevailed, I am sure they will get me pretty good for the labor... will have to see, parts came in at the end of last week, supposed to be ready by the end of this week, will probably pick up early next week to test out before the holiday weekend ride.... Saw the shift fork. Did not good at all. Just wish that they would have looked at that first that way I did not put money into a perfectly good rear end. Will keep all who care posted to the final raping I recive in the form of a final invoice....

You need to have them replace the tranny to the 02 version while in there. The shift fork costs what? $39 Yamaha stepped up big time there.

My mistake, depending on which shift fork they are replacingthey range from $22-$29.

Agreed, its just going to happen again unless you get the 02' conversion. No ifs, ands, or buts, the 01' tranny will fail again.

RAPTOR IS FIXED!!!!!!!!!AND I MIGHT ADD RUNNING BETTER THAN A BANSHEE!!!! YAMAHA COVERED ALL PARTS COSTS! ILL HAVE TO DIG UP THE BILL BUT I BELIEVE THAT LABOR WAS ROUGHLY $800.00. MY TOTAL WAS $1019.00 BECAUSE I BOUGHT A FEW EXTRAS. THEY ENDED UP FIXING ALOT MORE STUFF THAN JUST THE TRANNY. BUT I CANT COMPLAIN, HAD IT OUT ONCE AND NO PROBLEMS. DID NOT GET INTO 4TH GEAR THOUGH......
