Why are Yamaha's so stinkin unreliable?

I have a 96 Wolverine and the only problem I have had is the rear brake, the parking break specifically. Otherwise it has been bullet proof. I can keep up with the big quads like the grizzly and SP500HO on the trails but they pull away on the straight aways. Later.

My family has owned 11 ATV's, all Yamaha's except 2 Honda's.
We've only had major problems with one bike, one of the first year model Timberwolves. Engine died. I can't remember exactly why, but I think it was something my sis did to it.
Of the minor problems, it seems like only the 02 Rancher my dad owns has had any "problems"
Yamaha's don't seem "unreliable" to me at all
this isn't opinion. this is fact. We date back to the early 80's riding Yamahas. My dad's not a firm believer in maintenance either. I don't ever recall changing oil in any bike until I was old enough to figure it out.

wolverines are bullet proof but only to a certain degree... I just cant believe that out of all the machines that yamaha makes you said that one of the best built ones is doing bad.. first year problems are always there no matter what company.. The only reason you have been hearing yamaha problems is beacuase they are stepping up to the plate with these new machines. CAN I GET A AMEN MY FELLOW YAMI RIDERS
If you get a wolverine make sure you properly grease the cv joints and other things like that. Or you will have lined up problems

How can 107hours (I forgot to add the 20 hours b4 I put on the meter) not be proof of reliablilty?
Could it be possible that there are seemingly more breakdowns of yamahas because there are just so many of them compared to say honda? I dont know about this one, just guessing.... the 107hrs thing I am sure about though.
