I really like the Grizzly. It doesn't handle as well as the "lighter" Wolverine, though. Its fast and comfortable, at my age (39) It seems like the right quad for me. I know the Grizzly won't beat a 700 Prairie in a drag race but what will it beat? So what quads have you guys beat, in a drag race, on your Grizzlys?

 

they will beat a blaster, and any thing under its cc in utilty that i am aware of. very quick quads. bring the front end up at about 5mph and pin the throttle and wheelie to 60+mph. they are excellent fast quads. the new twin peaks does sneak ahead tho. o well. id pick a griz over it anyday.

 

I would also take it over the new efi's and what not.. blasters,mojave,wolvy,250ex,300ex,ozark,rancher,z2 50,warrior.. you will beat them all

 

I was just wondering how well it would do. It seems fast. I was just trying to get an idea on what other quads it compared to. Thanks for the input! I'm still in the break-in period. I had a" just for fun" drag race with my son on his warrior the other day. It was a short 80 or 90 yard race. It was pretty close. I didn't open the throttle up all the way very long. (break-in) We pretty much kept even. After the break-in and on a longer stretch I'm sure we'll try it again. .......... Anyone else pit their Grizzly against other ATV's? How did they do?

 

My Dads Grizz is quick also an '04. It keeps up with a Raptor a little bit. I can tell you one thing your gonna smoke your sons Warrior.

 

Get in some 15-20" snow and see who will have to brake trail, even with stock tires..

I have raced a Polaris Sportsman 500 HO and a Polaris Trailblazer 250 with several mods. Neither of them could keep up, left them behind right off the line.

 

I went side by side with a 650, 2002, Kawi. He had a shift kit and a few more goodies . My Grizz is a 99 , all stock except for 25" titans. We raced twice and came to a draw both times. Considering the upgrades and the year difference , I'd say the Grizz had some " Kow" for lunch.
I just ordered a 2005 , 660 for next year.... GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

 

booooo!...............just kindn.........my ridin buddie has a griz 660 and he smoked a polaris sportsman 700 this last past wkend, as a madder of fact, he likes it alot

 

You won't get outrun by any other 4x4 except one of the big prairies or the twin peaks (sorry, no Prairie 400's allowed). Its got enough to probably outrun a Sportsman 700 in the drag (don't know about top end) and it will whup the Rincon and Quest in the drag too. Probably faster than the AC650, but who knows yet. Haven't heard of anyone trying it nevertheless hearing it enough times to actually guage the difference.

I've heard of Grizzlies beating prairies, but not enough times to believe it.
