octane for a 4 stroke

Default octane for a 4 stroke

what is the octane of gas to run in a four stroke atv low mid or high to obtain the best performance

That will depend on many, many things. If you have no mods, the best thing to do is follow the manufactures recommendations. If you have mods, the ones you have will dicate whether you need more octane.

I usually try to stay away from the cheaper stuff, tho it's not cheap anymore.

I think every quad should have nothing less then 93 pump in it. If you raise compression and have to run race gas that is a differnt story. But if you go pick up a quad at a dealership, I think you should always put 93 in it. I wouldn't run anything less in mine.

A stock Raptor would have more power with just 89, since it doesn't have the compression to need anything more. Remember, you want the lowest octane that does not pre-detonate. At that measly 9:1 ... 89 is fine. When you get up to 11:1 .. run 93 ... etc. There are a lot of factors.
