YFZ or 450R
all the horror stories with all these yfz being in the shops for broken pistons and such make me think that the honda is the better choice! im sure they have there problems too but i am a yamaha guy but all and all i think honda builds the better quality more reliable bike....but i didnt say anything about them being faster!

YFZ or 450R
I have a 450r now, Ive raced yzf's dragging and on the mx track. I dont know what roostin rappy has been smoking, but i wouldnt mind getting some of it. It really ends up being who has the better launch. The yzf is no faster than the 450r.
But the yzf stands a lot lower to the ground. The 450r does have a Raptor or Z400 tall feeling to it, but not nearly as bad. The suspension is still way better than any other bikes except for the yzf. All you need to do to fix it is loosen up the preload all the way, and then tighten the rebound and damper to where ever it feels right. Might not have to increase them at all because they are set pretty high stock. What this does is lower the ride height in the front and improves cornering a ton. It also helps move some weight to the front for the people that seem to think it has a light front end. they odviously havent every ridden a raptor (the most backwards weighted and messed up handling bike on earth).
If you plan on putting aftermarket suspension on it, you can make both bikes just as fast. Which is good. Now that there is competition between brands, we will see better and better bikes in the future. I am actually very proud of yamy on the yzf. For being its first year it did a lot better than my old 01 raptor. They do have some minor problems though. Havent seen any becides the idiots holding the throttle open on the 450r's while starting (this causes a major backfire that can crack the case). It scares me every time a freind jumps on my bike.

YFZ or 450R
im still looking for a fast 450R. Ive seen a ton at the track and dunes and never had one come close to beating me in a drag race. In fact I have not seen a 450R beat ANY YFZ yet. Im sure they are out there though ???
I like the 450R alot and put an hour on one at the dunes, but as far as power they are totally different.
Both are good quads ... but the YFZ is a much faster machine
