Default 2001 Blaster has a question

Can anyone help me out with this one? i have an 01 blaster. once i ride for a little bit, like 30 minutes, i get to the high gears and start flying and all of a sudden the engine sputters until it dies. whats the cause of this? just overheated or does yamaha put something on blasters if they run too hard? much thanks,
sam

Sounds like it's running lean and overheating.

You need to find out what size main and pilot is in the bike.

ok...went riding on sunday, blaster sputtered twice and died. i also noticed that it doesnt idle correctly. what i mean is that i have to keep giving it gas or it will idle for a minute then die. also when i go down big hills, i have to keep revving it up and giving it gas or it will die. can someone assist me with any thoughts? thanks for the help

I think if it were just lean, you wouldn't have all of these problems. I think you're up for a whole carb cleanout. Make sure your air filter is passing air as well.

You probably need to clean out your jets and air filter. If that doesn't work, get a bigger jet size
