Default raptor start button

hey everyone, total newbie here. bought an 01 raptor ltd not long ago and had to replace electrical control unit (start, lights etc). bought a new part off e bay(mistake) and start button does not work. the entire inside of the unit looks like it was left in a puddle of mud and i'm thinking the electrcal contacts my be crapped up but what do i know. when i got it the button barely moved, sprayed some electrical cleaner in there and it moves better but still not working. how do i get to the start button and what should i be looking for. thanks for any feedback- sorry for the long post

SpeedyJ...

Its been a while since I had one of them apart, but from what I remember there are a few small screws on the inside that you can take out and it allows you to get to the contacts behind the button. You should be able to hit them with some sand paper and check the wires to make sure they are still conected. Hopefully it will work after that! If anyone else has any better idea or a better memory of what it looks like please jump in!

Hope that this helps!

I will put it this way, I took mine apart and put it back together and it still worked LOL

Besides if its already broke then you can't do more then either fix it... or not! LOL

Honestly I think its pretty easy take off that plate and I THINK you can get to the contacts after that. I would almost guarantee if it was gummed up that bad that there is dirt or corosion between the contacts.
