'04 Blaster idles really high after being ridden

Here's the scenario: I have an '04 Blaster, I cleaned my air filter(K&N) with the recharger stuff. The instructions said to make sure that there is no white showing on the foam filter so I made sure I sprayed plenty. I let it dry for a couple days and reinstalled it into the air box. After that, I took the bike out for a whip and it was fine at low speeds, but when I tried opening it up, it would kinda bog out and would not reach it's top speed.
I tried adjusting the air screw to allow more air flow and it seemed to help.
A few weeks later I went quadin and the bike accelerated and top-ed out fine, but when I would stop, with the bike still running, the engine would rev really high(as if the throttle was being pressed about 75%).
I noticed that some of the K&N recharger oil had leaked off the filter to the bottom of the air box. If some of the oil made it's way into the carbeurator, could this be causing it or is it something else? If it is the oil, how can I fix it? Drain the carb., re-clean-oil the air filter(with a lot less oil) and see what happens?
I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on this....

oh... forgot to mention. I checked the idle screw and it hasn't been touched.
if the bike's been sittin for a while and cooled off, it usually won't revv really high until you goose the throttle or ride it.

I'm assuming you have jetted richer to make up for the increased air flow. First, it probably ran a little bad at first due to having too much oil, that's possibly why the top end wasn't very good until later, when you notices the excess oil had time to drip off and pick up the air flow.
As far as revving when you're off the throttle, an air leak will cause 2 strokes to do that, after it runs for a while, something may be heating up and expanding, letting air leak and lean out the idle,causing it to rev uncontrollably. An exhaust leak can also cause this, but to check the intake, when it is warmed up, spray carb cleaner all around the intake boot and carb, if you get a sudden increase or change in idle,you've found your leak. as far as exhaust, make sure the flange is tight, and any gaskets are in place and not broken. Also make sure the throttle cable is free, and not binding when warmed up. Since your Blaster is an 04, you may want to see if the dealer will look at it under warranty. Hope this gives you a couple of things to check, let us all know what you find out.

ok, i'll try that.
I'm not sure was size jet I put it, but it was for Stage 2, air box lid off, stock or aftermarket exhaust, and k&n air filter.

Finding an air leak is really simple!
Take a bottle of compressed air, aka: "Dust Gun," you know, the bottle you use to spray dust off of your computer keyboard that has the thin red hose attached, and spray it all around the intake areas.
When the motor speeds up, you have located the air leak!
If the motor does not speed up after doing this, you can rule out an intake leak!
