Hey guys since i am gettin new carbs i dont use the TORS anymore. What do i do with the connectors? I want to cut them off so it is cleaner looking. My question is do i leave the wires separate or do i splice (twist the yellow and black wire together?) them together to complete the circuit??? Any help would be great

thanks

You could probably do that. The best way is to follow the tores wire to the blackbox behind the radiator and unplug it.

I just got a '96 Banshee that already had a twist throttle, and Mikuni (not factory) carb tops on it. I went back to a thumb throttle, but did a little research on the TORS first. The control box is mounted to the frame, right in front of the left cylinder. Mine was still there, just unplugged. So I removed it, cut the 3 wires going to the connector, and taped them off (just cut, no re-splicing). Then I found the two wires that go to the funky TORS carb tops, and cut those suckers off too, again without splicing or soldering back into themselves to complete any circuits. I removed the switch from the throttle housing and plugged the hole with a rubber cap, and the switch(?) at the emergency brake handle was already removed and capped.

Everything works on mine, you should be allright if you replace the carbs or caps, and just remove all the other garbage. You will have to either get the idle kit or new carbs that have idle screws also so you can adjust the idle properly.
