A well built 686 should be way past 50HP. 57HP is about average. With some extra mods, 60 HP plus is very possible.

Well 41.5HP should be about right, for 1/2 throtlle

Congrats man.....That had to be the longest six weeks you have ever experienced. Can't wait to hear the full report and see the pics....It sounds like it's gonna rock....If I may ask a personal question.....What is a ballpark cost in having something like done to a Rappy and would that be suitable for everyday trail and dune riding or is that more reserved for b@lls to the wall running, mx and drag racing....I never heard of this stuff till I joined the Connection so I feel like I'm way behind the times..But I sure learned alot from you guys in the past few months .

Yamaha660R - you should be pushing at least 55 hp on your bike. Nice power isnt it!! I noticed mine right off the bat and it had that deep thump sound to it right away. As your ride it more often you will feel the increase in power as time goes on. The rings have to set in and once you have it broken in then it will push another few HP's out for you.

I asked Sparks when I did my motor and what his break in period is and he said none, just go out and ride it but me as a past mechanic didnt do that. I took it easy for a whole weekend at the dunes.

My 690 kit was pushing 61 hp with the FCR carbs so I know yours is right around there easy.

Good to hear Yamaha660R !!

Its all fun from here on out. As you know I did my break in a week or so ago, and she's
running like a champ. Just took it for another ride yesterday and I "still" havent gotten
over the difference . Arm-ripping acceleration. Especially with a quick slam of the throttle
on a trail, going from turn to turn. It takes 5 seconds for the rocks in the air to land

Keep us updated ! Let us know when you start smoking other quads in drags... I know I will be.

Later
