Default Uni or K & N??

Other than the obvious price difference between the two type of filters .. performance-wise, is there a big diff. between a Uni Filter or a K & N filter? Thinking of getting on for the Warrior and leaning towards the Uni simply for cost ..

Any input guys/gals?

Thanks,

Trev

The concensus seems to be UNI for dirt, K&N for sand.

i went w/ Uni for the $ factor. if you run a prefilter, it's pretty much a wash between the two. KN will last longer service-wise and that's why they're so fargin expensive.

Can you get a pre-filter for the unifilter or is the prefilter something completely different? If you could point me to a link where I could see one that would be great.

Thanks for the replies so far!!

as far as prefilters for Unis, check DennisKirk.com
i'm running a 4" clamp-on and i've seen some disposible prefilters that would fit.
i'm thinking of maybe having my mother sew me some custom prefilters. she's pretty good on the ol' sewing machine

The foam UNI would also be better for a wet environment. I've used small nylon socks or panty hose for pre-filters from my old 02 TBlazer 250 to my 390 FE Ford mud runner, and they work just as good as anything, as long as your better half doesn't mind you stealing her nickers......
