Pictures of the carnage (JE piston)

MMMMMMMMMMmm.........aaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........MMMMM MMMM well I still won't bet my life on it, but again I agree with BartlettRacing. Look at the erosion of the head on the edges. It was way rich also and that proabably saved it for awhile, but then bang went the piston.
Again, please take BartlettRacing idea and check over timing issues. If you can't find any issues let a shop or a friend check it out, or you will run over another piston!!!!!!

The extra bit of oily look is due to the oil that got through before it let go. I was running a bit richer than normal this last time out due to a 20 plus degree rise in my normal riding temps, 60's to upper 80's low 90's. I also wanted to run it a bit rich all the time after the first failure anyways.
I'm having a hard time getting a good close up of the spark plug but, there does seem to be some deposits on the insulator down inside.
I will take Bartletts advice and check the timing issues, flywheel key etc before it goes back together.

Those are definatly detonation pictures Mitch. A lean condition would show what would appear to be melting along the edges of the hole I have, yes? Which it does not. Either way, I'll be double checking the timing, check the key on the flywheel and run higher than 100 octane, probably sunoco 110 with the new piston. I gave Sam a pm, I'm just going to get his 12:1.

Here is a picture of a brand new plug after a 15 second wide open throttle run and plug chop to check my main jetting.
New plug
This is the same plug as the one in the quad when the piston went out by the way.

Ya lean will look melted. Your plug looks pretty good to me, no blisters or errosion. The only thing that can't be seen by the pics of the plug is if there are tiny flecks or ***** on it which would indicate detonation.
