I believe it is legal to cross roads as long as your above 16 on any atv or dirtbike....but riding along side....just don't fly or do anything bad and no one will say nothing unless you have some ignorant old people (no offence to any older guys on here)that have nothing better to do then to sit on there front porch with phone in hand and the cops number dialed just waiting to hit send or some wacked pollution crazy women in her SUV that polutes more then atvs do, no one will anything....the cops won't care as long as your not causing harm or trouble.
The cops around here don't care or they wave...so we kindly wave back....being polite will help...being morons won't.

I had this question on my mind a few years ago, and from what I found out... basically
if you are going from point A to point B, and you have to cross any road or bridge, even
main roads, you can.. and driving for short periods alongside main roads to connecting offroad trails
is allowed if done in a mature manner. A PA state trooper quoted this to me as the
real law too. At no time are you by law allowed to drive down paved main roads though, since you
are not a road-legal licensed vehicle. Just stay on the sides and be careful and mature.
In my town, theres a bridge for the main road into town. By law , if I got to the bridge legally and
needed to cross to continue, I am allowed to cross the bridge "on " the road to the other side.
Even if you are on the side of the road riding responsibly, a trooper could be an **** or be having a bad
day and try to ticket you or give you a hard time. Just take it and dont argue, and be at the magistrate
on the day you are to appear for the ticket, and it will probably be thrown out. Ive had it happen. They
usually wont even show up to fight their end.. since they know better.

i got a ticket for sitting on the side of a road where snowbanks were but anyway you have to have a registered vehicle with a license plate and all of that junk to cross a completely straight line and be the proper age for your vehicle or you could cross a bridge if the water is too deep or some junk like that but most cops really dont care and i hate to sound like such a nerd being so technical
