Huh, guess that old saying 'no replacement for displacement' isn't true with Yamahas??
Thanks for the answer.

And thats why the Cobra is faser! Its supercharged! Thats why its faster. Cars are cars. You dont compare them by saying, well, if it had this and had that then it would be faster. Well it dont and thats why it is slower. What year Trans-Am does he have? If you take the charger off the Cobra then the Trans-Am will win, not by much but will win! The corba is pushing a 4.6litre (280ci) and the Trans-Am is 5.7litre (350ci), a full litre less and it still will come close. If you miss a gear with the Trans you might as well kiss it goodbye!

I think you are thinking if it was a twin that it would have two 450cc cylinders, but that would be a 900cc. If it was a twin, each cylinder would be 225.

I'm thinking it must be a twin, otherwise how the hell could it be so much faster than the Raptor?

I think it goes back to my argument I have with friends about whats faster Trans AM or a 03' Cobra. Stock for stock the Cobra is gonna win since it push close to 400hp were an F-body is in the low to mid 300s. I say take the Super Charger off the Cobra and what happens? The F-body has the displacment and smokes the cobra. Or add a Charger onto the F-body? What happens, the F-body smokes the Cobra again.
wow, ricers use that same arguement when comparing their cars to mustangs and camaros. you are so wrong there, the f-body (if equipped with the cobra's eaton) would very shortly grenade under boost. a stock ls1 engine comes with 10:1 compression, i wanna see how long that holds up to 8lbs of boost. now on the other hand, the cobra comes with 8:1 compression (perfect for boost, up to 30psi in kenne bell applications), forged pistons, forged manley rods, forged crank, and 6 bolt cross bolted mains. the only way to compare cars, atvs, or any other vehicle is by base cost, and modded cost. ever seen an 03 cobra with some simple boltons such as smaller pulley, full lenths, and throttle body?

Quit comparing it to the raptor! Put the same set up on a Raptor and it will beat the YFZ, DUH! Now put 660cc on the YFZ and it will beat the Raptor. If they put the same stuff on a raptor, then why call it a YFZ and not just a raptor? Different bikes and thats that. Ones faster than the other but they both are awesome bikes!

Yet they just don't seem to get it.
