how much riding experience do you have?

granted, the yfz was my first "quad", but i've also owned 3, 3-wheelers, and 2 dirtbikes.

It will take less time to learn the clutch than it will to write the check.

Hey Jon23,
Yeah clutch isnt that big of a deal. You could burn it out on any machine if you dont know how to use it. I use the clutch for first gear starts and sometimes just give it a small touch when shifting into 2nd gear,,,, after that, I dont even use the danged clutch. Just back yer thumb off for a split second and "shift-baby-shift" then its back on the power. You dont have to back off much. You dont even have to back off at all if you dont want to, but you may end up buying some new synchros sooner than later. Good Luck with your purchase.

YFZ? First quad.. they are amazing performance machine. If so check out the kfx,z,divx they still have clutch and are fast with reverse but.... I would have killed myself if i rode a yfz as my first atv... The z's are not slow either... You will learn clucth fast but the sickness in a yfz is not for the timid

i had a question kinda the same, but i dont have all the money right now... i wanted to get a raptor but then i saw the 450. i have drove a quad befor but i only have about1300 bucks! i have a 2002 tomoms lx moped that i am selling for about 1000. or that i will trade. what is better though? the 450 or the raptor>>>what is faster? what is faster off the start??? i am about 5ft 7.5 and weigh about 125. i am small but strong, and i have rode befor. this quad is goin to mine for a long time!!! also i need a cheap trailer. to haul the quad. does any one know where i could get a chaep one? or if any one would take the moped and 1300 cash???

I'm sure everyone has been referring to the starting out procedure from 1st gear. Do you have anything GOOD to post on these forums? I'm yet to see it.
