A gree with the DS beeting the Banshee in a drag race. I have raced and been beat by a DS on the one occassion I could get one of them to race. It was on grass and about a 300 yard race. I'm fairly heavy so that hurts but still, he had about 3 quad lengths roughly on me at the end. This was back in april so my memory is a little fuzzy.

Thanks for the reply! After the initial start...did you jump the DS and them he creep on by you or did you both stay side by side till very top speed? It sounds like a close race for sure!

So a "stock DS" can beat a "stock Banshee". Right? Well think about this, a DS retail's for around 7000.00 and a Banshee Retails for around 6,000.00, take that extra thousand, you got pipes, air filter, and you still have extra left over. Plus (at least from what I hear) the Banshee would be able to beat the DS in a drag. Bottom line, if you own a DS then it is better, if you own a Banshee then it is better. If it wasn't then you would have bought something else.

As I recall, he had me beat from the start due to a better launch and just pulled away from there. I had the (dis)pleasure of watching him from behind the whole race. Oddly, it's hard to get people on the DS to race. Also, for some reason what i've seen so far is that they tend to just cruise around a lot, not too much racing or hill climbing.... I know that's not the case for everybody, just my personal experience.

FMF350. Correct, from what i've seen. The thing about drag races is that each rider's skill and weight have a big influence. For example, when I just had my Blaster and Warrior my skinny friend who weighs about 100 Lbs less than me would always win on whichever quad he rode because he weighed a lot less. Take a well tuned Banshee against a not so well tuned DS650 and the results would likely be different. I guess you have average it all out... (I'll stick to my 2 stroke for now though)

I drag race piped banshees and can run with them 0 to 65mph. All I have is taller gearing and better tires.
