Shee vs. DS
#6
Who knows at this point? I am so frustrated at the conflicting comments from all those who have tested it. There is so much contradictory opinion on drag race results. At approx 45 hp, it should walk all over a banshee! At almost 70 lbs. less, the Raptor should also beat a DS. I don't know what to believe now. It seems it will take a full on comparison shootout between all these bikes to finally settle the debate. It will be interesting.

Same power figuares huh? i hear the ds can beat the raptor buy about 1 full sec from 0-30 mph, but the raptor beats it everywhere else..if so..the raptors numbers better be quite a bit better than the ds after 0-30 in order to catch it....and i bet the raptor passes the Ds whne it is hitting the rev limiter, and that is something that can be changed by a sprocket change..right? COmon guys, who actully runs the machines all the way to top end when racing? And when you say the raptor is lighter so it is a better perfformance machine...that is only for you..what about somone that likes the weight and uses it to there advantage? then what?!

Sure!...a sprocket change and there will be a difference. Lower gearing and the DS will get more of a holeshot and have less top end speed. Higher gearing and the holeshot is lost and hopefully the Raptor can be reeled in. Who does'nt use high rpm (top end-whatever you want to call it) power when drag racing? That is primarily what is used after initial take off. The weight and size of the DS could make for better handling performance when comparing it to a lighter, more narrow machine, but the same weight and size could hurt the DS's straight line performance when comparing it to a machine with less weight and about the same power.

Another thing that is very odd.....how can the Banshee beat the DS in a drag? I have not rode or raced a DS against the Banshee, so could someone enlighten me on where the Banshee gets the upper hand. The DS has more power everywhere and has more top speed (just what I have read) does'nt it?
