when running raptor with no airbox lid...
So, does the lid prevent water from getting in pretty well? Do you think it restricts the air flow a lot? Also, what kind of air filter are your running underneath it? Have you done any other airbox modifications?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm like you in that I think running with no lid in East TN where mud and creek crossings are all over the place, would just be asking for trouble.

I have a K&N air filter with gyt-r prefilter. I have ridden in a ton of mud, rain, puddles, etc. and never noticed the prefilter getting wet. The prefilter is also water resistant so i figure it's two layers of defense. As far as restriction goes, I think its just the same as running with no lid, the screen runs right down the middle. I trimmed back the flap on the top part just in case but i doubt it was neccessary. I would recommend it as a great alternative to running w/o a lid. Right after I got the lid, my boy got it for his banshee and has nothing but good things to say as well.

Cool! I'm going to get it, because the idea of getting water and mud sucked through my engine doesn't sound fun at all. If anyone on here has ever ridden at Tellico, Windrock, or Royal Blue, you'll know what kind of terrain I'm talking about.

P.S. Did you go from running the lid to running the EHS? If so, what did you have to do to your jetting?

Thanks man! I'm trying to decide which pipe I'm going to get, and I'm thinking the Yoshi TRC Pro Series Titanium or Carbon Fiber at this point. I'm also thinking that I'm going to try to run the EHS lid, take out the fins, and try to see how it runs with 175/180 jets. I'm very curious to see how this pipe would have stacked up against the CT racing pipe that was running no lid and the larger jets.
