Sand dunes??? what state is king?
Dunes in the southwest are cool but it gets too freekin hot to ride in the summer! For that reason I say I live in the best sand dune area in the country I can ride all year round and hey, if a pacific storm rolls in it can make for a great ride. Night rides with lightning, nothing like it

If I remember correctly, I think I read that Devil's Slide would be located with a Pole Number in the mid 20s. Over 10 miles south of Pier Avenue. But I could be wrong. The site previously posted has some information on Devil's Slide.
I suppose that in non-breeding season (Oct. - Feb.) for the plover, one could take a bicycle, walk or ride a horse down to the area of where Devil's Slide is.
